We are a civil engineering consulting firm in Qatar that focuses in the area of transportation engineering, traffic engineering, highway design, Traffic and highway safety and accident’s analysis.
We are looking for an engineer to fill the position of Senior Highway & Traffic Engineer (engineer-in-charge) in the consulting office. The job requirements and details are summarized below.


Job Requirements & Qualification:

A. In order to be the engineer-in-charge (ranked as Grade A engineer) in the office, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) in Qatar requires the following:
1. The Engineer to have a certified Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering approved and certified from the Embassy of the country issued the degree and then to get approved by the Ministry of Exterior in Qatar.
2. The engineer-in-charge should have a valid certificates that he/she has the engineering licenses in his home Country. The engineer should be licensed to do Engineering work in his home country and he/she should provide a certificate to prove this.
3. The engineer should provide at least 10 years experiences certificate from the companies that he/she worked. The certificates should be officially stamped and signed by the company. This is mandatory in order to be the engineer-in-charge (Grade A engineer)
4. The engineer should provide a police clearance from his country or the embassy of his country in Qatar in order to be registered in the ministry as a grade A engineer.

Overall Duties:

1. Providing expert technical traffic and highway engineering advice and services to external clients;
2. Coordinate business development activities by establishing and maintaining positive client
3. Responsible for overall work progress and technical performance on projects including: transportation master plan studies, functional planning studies, traffic impact studies, parking studies, traffic data collection and analysis, traffic calming studies, safety assessments and transportation peer reviews;
4. Assist with preparing and implementing business plans with reporting to the business general manger.
5. Manage milestones and organizational structure for engineering activities;
6. Coordinate business development activities by establishing and maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
7. Manage project budgets;
8. Monitor industry standards and developments, assessing client needs and make concrete decisions on proposed solutions.

B. Education: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering certified and approved by the embassy of the issuing country.

C. Experience: 10 years or more in related Civil Engineering, Highway engineering, Traffic engineering, and transportation projects.

D. Languages:
a. Speak English, Read English, Write English
b. Arabic language knowledge is appreciated

E. Working conditions:
a. Work Environment: Design office and consultancy work
b. Excellent Compensation will be provided based on the experience, and working conditions agreement

F. Computer software: Preferred Knowledge about
a. VISUM, VISSIM, Synchro, MXROAD, SIDRA, TRANSYT F7, HCS+, AutoTURN, ParkCAD, & AutoCAD
b. Microsoft word package
