Our Client is an international airline leaving their stamp on the Middle East, growing rapidly, they are seeking new team members for their Public Relations Team. Working for a friendly and creative team, this is a great opportunity to move into a in-house role from an agency.
This Public Relations Coordinator role will have three key focus areas: media relations, events and administrative support. The role will involve maintaining our Clients’ media databases, developing contacts with the media and ensuring they have a comprehensive media monitoring service.
Required Qualifications
As the Public Relations Coordinator your responsibilities will include;
• Maintaining up-to-date media contact databases, such as Media Disk. This will include logging all media relations activities across the business.
• Building up profiles of target media. This would involve keeping copies of previous articles.
• Issuing press releases and following up with target journalists to optimize the level of coverage received.
• Support the PR team when issuing invitations to the media for FAM trips, press conferences, dinners, Iftars and events etc. Maintain guest lists.
• Media monitoring activities
• Maintain the annual activity schedule for the PR team, including regional calendars and flag up-coming events
• Provide assistance to the Events Specialist in event management, as required.
• Attend and assist onsite at events.
• Assist with any necessary visas applications for FAM trips and events.
• Book photographer/video graphers and other freelancers for public relations activities.
• Maintain and update the database of supplier contact details including venues for the PR team.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to obtain quotations for all public relations activities.
• Work with the procurement team to ensure that all contracts are in place with our suppliers ensuring that they renewed on time.
• Coordinate the day-to-day financial activity for the PR team, maintaining records of our expenditure and ensuring suppliers are paid on time. Establish this process in conjunction with Finance and work closely with them.
• Maintain the PR Department’s administration including leave schedules, emergency telephone rota, etc.
Our Client is seeking either a University Graduate or someone with a years experience public relations or the media, previous experience in the aviation or travel industries would be an advantage but is not essential.
Qualifications
• A university degree in public relations, journalism or a related discipline
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both Arabic and English
Our Client is specifically seeking a fluent Arabic and English speaker, please do not apply if you are not able to speak, read, write and translate from Arabic to English, this will be tested at interview stage. Unfortunately, only successful candidates will be contacted for the role.
